Night on Fic Mountain 2017

Hello,

Thank you for reading! I've set out a few suggestions per fandom, but I'm happy with ODAO as long as long as you avoid my DNW. Otherwise, I would be delighted with anything you write for me in any of these fandoms! For some of them I've been able to come up with more ideas for things I'd particularly like to see than others, but please don't take that as indicating a fandom preference!

I am on AO3 as Nabielka.

DNW:
- A/B/O verse
- Pregnancy
- D/s relationship dynamics
- BDSM in general
- Gender headcanons
- Making female characters really 'feminine'
- Detailed description of oral sex performed on a man
- Christmas/other holiday themed fic
- AUs where they're in space/in the USA/modern AUs for historical fandoms
- Rape jokes
- depiction of living in the Communist bloc as grim unrelenting misery
- Nazis or Holocaust allusions

I find it very difficult to get into second-person narratives and also struggle with first person in English, so I would prefer third person as a narrative voice.

Likes:
- Politics
- Tropey temporary amnesia
- Time travel
- Pining
- Court cases/legal matters
- In-universe future academia
- Muscles on women

All In The Family 2017

Hello!

Thank you for reading! I've set out a few suggestions per fandom, but I'm open to ODAO as long as you avoid my DNWs. - Gender headcanons
- Making female characters really 'feminine’
- Positive depictions of slavery
- Detailed description of oral sex performed on a man
- Death of an elderly person
- Christmas / other holiday themed fic
- AUs where they’re in space/in the USA/modern AUs for these fandoms in general
- Holocaust allusions
- Rape jokes

I find it very difficult to get into second-person narratives, and also struggle with first person in English, so I would really prefer third person as the narrative voice.

I’m not sure about the extent to which it’s relevant here, but I remember it came up in ChocolateBox, so: I’d be perfectly happy to receive fic in Polish as well.

Captive Prince - C. S. Pacat (Damen & Theomedes, Damen & Kastor, Damen/Kastor, Damen/Jokaste/Kastor, Auguste & Laurent)

Damen clearly loved his father a lot, he’s a set of standards to follow, and they’ve never apparently disagreed on serious matters, and Theomedes wants to be well to see what Damen will accomplish. I’d be interested in something pre-canon for them, whether in a field where they might indeed have minor disagreements on policy, or just a general slice of life snippet. What Damen does actually accomplish, of course, is a close alliance with Vere, which he thinks no matter how he might try to explain, Theomedes would not understand. The horror of it: Veretian voices in his halls! His son besotted! Even Makedon of the sensible views about Vere won over! (I got a fic I really enjoyed based on this concept for this past yuletide, but I’m really into the concept!) Perhaps in an AU where Kastor has a slightly different plan and Theomedes is trapped somewhere/in a coma? In a time travel where they’re thrown back to the past and try to prevent the events of Marlas?

I don’t mind if Theomedes never shows up in person, I’d be happy enough to have Damen and Laurent talk about him, or Damen with some of the kyroi and his own memories.

Alternatively, I’d also be really interested in something about Damen and Kastor’s relationship pre-canon, especially something friendly on the surface but with undercurrents of resentment. I would be amused by something depicting Damen completely failing to pick up on Kastor’s complicated feelings towards him as in canon and just benignly continuing on his way while Kastor seethes in the background, whether you want to depict that as having also a sexual element or not. I’d be interested also in a triangular relation where part of the attraction of Jokaste for Kastor is that he is gaining her interest instead of Damen, that Damen too has been with her, and that darkly, this is a passion of his too, in a way. Or anything post-canon in an AU where Kastor doesn’t stick a sword in Damen, goes along with his proposition, and lives to resent and plot against him again.

I’d be very interested in what Auguste might think of (post)canon Laurent, and in Laurent’s residual guilt over his feelings and relationship with Damen. I don’t mind how they might be brought to meet: suddenly alive with no explanation/witchcraft/dream/… Otherwise, I’m rarely interested in reading about small children (largely because I get easily thrown out where the depiction of a child at a certain age jars greatly with the children I have known at those ages), but mentions of such younglings in memories would be enjoyable, and something close to Marlas-time would also please me. Likewise something where the Council (tried to have) Made Them Do It, where they have to simulate intercourse would also be interesting.

Il Gattopardo | The Leopard - Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (Concetta Corbera/Tancredi Falconeri/Angelica Sedàra, Concetta Corbera/Angelica Sedàra)

I’d love something about when Angelica comes to visit her friend, but really to hear news of Tancredi, or if, following the example of the men of the family, Concetta also gets to kiss Angelica on the announcement of the engagement where she is welcoming towards her, or, finding out about her and Tancredi’s kiss before his going away, to take his kiss off her mouth. I’d like some more exploration of Concetta’s character: her anger at Tancredi after the dinner and his tale, the feeling of disappointment with a person one loves, and the strong characters of her and her sisters leading to a fight for hegemony in the house (called Catherine the Great!, and that after having been for years under the almost tyranny of the Prince her father with only an unnoticed cold spark in her eyes) – what might their relations have looked like in the intervening years? since they see each other so often and Angelica refers to Concetta as having been Tancredi’s favoured cousin? Likewise something about Tancredi’s attempts at the banquet to split his attentions equally being continued, since Tassoni says the offending anecdote had been made up and relates Tancredi as having been appealing in her anger and to have thought of taking her in his arms.

Lymond Chronicles - Dorothy Dunnett (Francis Crawford & Richard Crawford, Francis Crawford/Richard Crawford)

I’d really like something set in the first book, where Richard’s misapprehensions about his brother make him pretty intense about him throughout, particularly in the duel or when he’s taking care of Lymond’s wound, and musing on how ‘these were the hands that Mariotta knew better than he did: this the mouth; this the marked body…’. I don’t mind the canonical tone or something shippier, with Richard acquainting himself with it further, falling into his hurt and anger over what he thinks had taken place with his wife, and how still he thinks nothing could have torn Francis from his blood because of their shared upbringing and how he had loved him once. I’d also be interested in something dwelling further on his reversal in finding out the truth from his earlier plans of capture (begging aloud to be killed!) to promising to help him out of the country, an AU where it does come to that perhaps?

Historical RPF (Jogaila & Vytautas & Kęstutis, Jogaila & Vytautas)

I really like the political and the family tension here, in particular I’d be interested in something covering those situations where one of them is forced to submit and pledge allegiance or otherwise put themselves under the control of another: Jogaila in 1381 to Kęstutis, he himself at the battle-that-wasn’t in 1382, Vytautas reconciling again and again with Jogaila or forced to do so to Skirgaila as well. And his anger and resentment over the loss of his territory, the fate of Kęstutis… I’m particularly interested in the civil war from 1380, with Jogaila’s heinous betrayal (/useful political manoeuvring). And a broader sense of the family conflicts: Algirdas and Kęstutis had deposed Jaunutis once in their turn, and so fate turns. I’d also be up for something including any of the other family members or Jadwiga!

Also, +100 points if you can get in a reference to some Karaim near Trakai having been bought over by Vytautas (alternatively, the story of the ‘magic’ horse owned by Vytautas)!

Die kleine Hexe | The Little Witch - Otfried Preussler (The Little Witch & Aunt Rumpumpel)

I’d really like a look at the relations of Rumpumpel/Rumbrumtrach/whatever your translation called her and the little witch, especially post-canon where the position of power is reversed, and the books and brooms of all the other witches burned. Does Rum- try in any way to conciliate herself to her niece, who now holds the power? What do their relations look like then? Likewise, throughout the book, when she is spying on her, is there any moment in which she contemplates the little witch’s actions and considers the general stand of the witch community? I’d also be interested in a further exploration of the rules and customs of the witches in this book: we know, for example, that they’re not to use magic on Fridays, and are to be malevolent, and to dance on Walpurgis Night, but what else do they do that goes beyond the standard cultural conception of witches in general?

The Tudors (TV) (Mary Tudor & Henry Tudor, Catherine of Aragon & Mary Tudor, Mary Tudor & Anne Boleyn, Mary Tudor/Anne Boleyn)

We have plenty of fix-it AUs for Anne, but what I’d really like to see is one for Mary. Something like wish fulfilment for what she dreamed of Henry ‘coming to his senses’, and acknowledging his previous marriage to Catherine after her death (following another accident?) or taking advantage of the good faith argument and restoring Mary to her previous position, as he could well have done, following precedent for papal annulments. Any short little scene from such an AU would please me very much, whether it’s with Mary & Henry following some semi-return to normal, or if Mary’s position is conceded, guilt and discomfort on her part at benefitting while her mother is still kept away, or with Mary & Anne adjusting to having now been thrown together, and both so distrustful of the other. I’d like it if Mary were to start to have doubts about it being due to Anne that she had been sent to Hadfield.

Other than that, I’d also really like to see some of the love between Mary and Catherine, maybe via the go-between of Chapuys, whose scenes with Mary were some of my favourites in the show (please no Mary/Chapuys), or through seeing Catherine’s influence on Mary.

For Mary/Anne, I’m not so interested in explicit sex, but I’d like something about Mary noticing an attraction to Anne and feeling guilty about it at the same time, because she’s her father’s ‘mistress’ and because of what had happened to her mother. I’d prefer for the focus not to be on sexuality guilt here – that is, I don’t mind some because of the context, but I’d rather the focus to be more on guilty attraction to this particular woman, rather than to women in general.

Chocolate Box 2017

Hello!

Thank you for reading! I've set out a few suggestions per fandom, but I'm open to ODAO as long as you avoid my DNWs. I would cherish anything you write for me in any of these fandoms as long as you avoid these few things. Some of them I've more ideas for things I'd particularly like to see, but please don't take that as indicating a fandom preference! It's just that for some I've more specific ideas and also, have requested more relationships so that there's more variety in the prompts anyway.

I am AO3 as SlashMyDreams.

DNW:
- D/s relationship dynamics
- A/B/O verse
- Pregnancy
- Christmas / other holiday themed fic
- AUs where they’re in space/in the USA/modern AUs for these fandoms in general
- Captive Prince AU where Laurent is enslaved and sent to Akielos
- Holocaust allusions (not sure how they’d come up, but just in case!)

I find it very difficult to get into second-person narratives, and also struggle with first person in English, so I would really prefer third person as the narrative voice.

BrzydUla (TV) - Any

I really enjoyed Aleks’ plotting in the show, and I’d love to see some more of it, whether still against Ula, or even more so, if there was a threat to the company that even Aleks could not support. I’d love a reluctant, untrusting alliance between him and Ula, or between Ula and Paulina, for common interests. Between them, I liked Paulina’s semi-support of her after Marek’s manipulation comes out, that she doesn’t like her, but would never do something like that to her, and I’d like something in that vein too.

I really liked the sub-plot with Julia! I’d be interested in a further exploration of her relationships with Aleks and Paulina – the wistfulness and the guilt – and perhaps they can slowly come to feel more comfortable with each other again. Perhaps she can come back at some point post-canon? It’s such a low bar to set, with how unprofessional F&D is, but she was nice to Ula! I’d love to see them interacting again, now that Ula is the CEO.

It took me absolutely ages to warm up to Marek, but by the time Ula had taken over and he had taken to being regretful and pining, I was actually pretty it into it. I’d really love to read something set in that last period or shortly post-canon, as Ula grows to trust him again. I didn’t like the ‘Ula might go with Piotr to the US for a year!’ subplot, so please keep mentions of that to a minimum.

Captive Prince - C. S. Pacat - Damen & Theomedes (Captive Prince), Laurent & Theomedes (Captive Prince)

I would love to read about Theomedes dealing with Damen’s marriage to Laurent. Damen clearly loved his father a lot, and wonders towards the end of KG what Theomedes would have thought of Laurent, and at the Kingsmeet thinks that no matter how he might try to explain, Theomedes would not understand. I’m very interested in how this might play out! Certainly Theomedes would be horrified! Veretian voices in his halls! His son besotted! Even Makedon of the sensible views about Vere won over! (I got a fic I really enjoyed based on this concept for this past yuletide, but I’m really into the concept!) I don’t mind how they might be brought to meet – Kastor has a slightly different plan and Theomedes is trapped somewhere/in a coma? Time travel where they’re thrown back to the past and try to prevent the events of Marlas?

Historical RPF - Stanisław August Poniatowski/Catherine II of Russia, Izabela Czartoryska/Elżbieta Lubomirska, Stanisław August Poniatowski/Elżbieta Lubomirska,
Stanisław August Poniatowski/Izabela Czartoryska, Stanisław August Poniatowski/Izabela Czartoryska/Nikolai Repnin, Stanisław August Poniatowski & Nikolai Repnin, Stanisław August Poniatowski/Nikolai Repnin, Stanisław August Poniatowski & Otto Magnus von Stackelberg, Izabela Czartoryska/Nikolai Repnin, Stanisław August Poniatowski/Catherine II of Russia/Peter III of Russia, Nikolai Repnin & Otto Magnus von Stackelberg

I’d love a shot of Stanisław and Catherine’s optimistic romance in St. P. – even if you don’t go for foreshadowing later events, some outright fluff would be very enjoyable and somewhat ironic for me. Something optimistic in the period in the run up to the election or in the early reign would be great, but equally I’d love something on Stanisław beginning to doubt Catherine as his hopes of reform are hindered.

Piotr/Peter appears to have been mollified by Elizaveta Vorontsova in July 1758 after a bit of drama, so how about a threesome? I’d be interested particularly in a more positive approach to him than is usually given.

I love the political aspect of the period and would love something dealing with that just as much as something overtly shippy. For any of the relationships with the ambassadors (Repnin, Stackelberg), I’d love some hint of the drama. Certainly the papal nuncios of the complained of their posting, and while the Russian ambassadors were very powerful in the Commonwealth, they were still of course subject to Catherine’s demands in their jobs and that was probably rather stressful, not to mention the troubles of having to deal with all those troublesome nobles! So something about their complaints with dealing with their situation or their love affairs would be great – whether before Poniatowski’s relationship with Russia started going downhill or afterwards, when at times they remained on the same side. Repnin in particular was friendly with Stanisław and prone to demonstrating his position of power – telling him that if he were ever dethroned, he danced well enough to teach, or ordering performers to start their performance again after he came late – so something about the shifts in practical and titular power would be interesting.

These people got around a bit!

I’ve called Izabela/Elżbieta that for convenience – feel free to call either of them by either name; they were both baptised Elżbieta and came to be referred to as Izabela. Lubomirska tried to prevent her brother’s marriage to Czartoryska, on the grounds that she was ugly from the measles. They do not seem to have reconciled much afterwards, and Zamoyski describes Stanisław as always trying to patch up their feud. Still, they had some shared political and familial interests, and perhaps some measure of support and understanding could be reached through that; if not, there’s always hate!sex.

Stanisław had written of Elżbieta Lubomirska as being in the 1750s a sort of kindred soul to him, who had the same way of seeing things. Yet by 1760, he found that her tastes had changed and she treated him differently. I’d love a look too at these changed dynamics and the disappointment and wistfulness of finding someone one had cared for now different and strange.

For all that Izabela had some affairs, the one with Repnin is seen largely as having been begun for the sake of the nation (a la Maria Walewska and Napoleon, later), in order to gain the ambassador’s support for the planned reforms. In contrast, the affair with Stanisław seems to have been conducted on rather more normal grounds, and a comfort to her in the early part of her marriage; her husband, uncaring, would drop her off at the castle. Not only were Poniatowski and Repnin lovers of the same women, they were apparently not always their lovers at different times, so I’d be interested with a threesome with them too!

Il Gattopardo | The Leopard – Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa - Angelica Sedàra/Concetta Corbera

I’d love to read something set either earlier in the book, when the two begin to spend more time together again once Tancredi develops an interest in Angelica and we are told that she comes around more often supposedly to see Concetta – what if she were actually coming to see Concetta? Or if you want to keep the canonical romance with Tancredi, maybe she feels a little something for Concetta too?

Alternately, my favourite part of the book was the last chapter, about the relics, when they are all older and have so many years of the past behind them and so seem to have grown closer together so that five days of separation are a long time! Perhaps they’ve grown closer in a different way also. I liked also the part about Angelica acquiring an undeserved reputation of being an art expert – I enjoy very much the ‘versions’ of a character that are built up through outside POVs – what else might those very close to her know about Angelica that evades the eyes of others?

Hi!

Thank you for reading! I've set out a few suggestions per fandom, but I'm open to ODAO as long as you avoid my DNWs. I am AO3 as SlashMyDreams.

DNW:
- D/s relationship dynamics
- A/B/O verse
- Pregnancy
- Christmas / other holiday themed fic

For the most part I prefer third person as a narrative voice. I tend to find it difficult to get into second-person narratives.

Il Gattopardo | The Leopard - Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa - Angelica Sedàra, Concetta Corbera

I’m interested in reading more about Concetta and Angelica. I would be very interested in seeing something shippy, but equally if you want to write something about them being good friends, I would be delighted with that too. My favourite part of the book was the last chapter, about the relics, when they are all older and have so many years of the past behind them and so seem to have grown closer together so that five days of separation are a long time.

I liked also the part about Angelica acquiring an undeserved reputation of being an art expert – I enjoy very much the ‘versions’ of a character that are built up through outside POVs. Similarly, I would enjoy a fic set earlier in the canon, when the two begin to spend more time together again once Tancredi develops an interest in Angelica and we are told that she comes around more often supposedly to see Concetta, or even in their earlier adolescence when Angelica was, as the Princess recalls, rather ugly and uncared-for and thirteen.

Partitions of Poland RPF - Any

I'd love a look at the changing interpersonal relationships here - perhaps something on Stanisław beginning to doubt Catherine as his hopes of reform are hindered. I would also love something warm and optimistic about them in that early time in St. Petersburg, whether you decide to play it straight or imbue it with an awareness of what follows, or something depicting Poniatowski longing for her following his departure.

I also find the relationship between him and Repnin interesting – of course with Russian interventions and the frustrations but at times also the co-operation in the sejm, but also with the personal angle: their personal affairs with Izabela Czartoryska, Repnin’s comments about Poniatowski’s dancing.

By all means feel free to focus on other characters/persons in this time period or any political events – one of the Confederations perhaps? I don’t mind unorthodox slants on historical events.

Captive Prince - C. S. Pacat - Damen, Laurent, Kallias

I’m very interested in future fic about the unification process and reconciling varying legal systems and taxes or differing cultural attitudes especially when neither can really be seen as ‘right’. Similarly I’d like to see something on the ‘common’ people – in particular about the situation in the disputed territories between the two countries and perhaps on how repressive the Akielon regime was at this time – we’re told, for example, that they enslaved members of the population, which was presumably much resented and perhaps even actively resisted. Presumably there might be some resistance to the unification process also and perhaps even more broadly to the general underlying principle of mostly arbitrary monarchical power (revolution? Republic!) I’d also like to read about the abolishment of slavery! – With the addendum that I feel uncomfortable with the attitudes of Erasmus and earlier Damen, and would prefer that the focus be on more critical views and less rosy attitudes - what happens to Kallias post-KR? Feel free to focus on the impact on others, with the exception that I do not ship Erasmus/Torveld and would therefore like the fic not to be about their relationship.

I would also love to read about one of the parents’ reactions to the Damen/Laurent marriage. Damen wonders towards the end of KG what Theomedes would have thought of Laurent, and at the Kingsmeet thinks that no matter how he might try to explain, Theomedes would not understand. I’m very interested in how this might play out! Certainly Theomedes would be horrified! Veretian voices in his halls! His son besotted! Even Makedon of the sensible views about Vere won over! Similarly what might Aleron make of Laurent and his love for Damen? Obviously I realise that canonically they’re dead, but AU in which Kastor poisons his father somewhat differently and so Theomedes spends the trilogy in a coma? Or in an AU in which they’re thrown back into the past and try to prevent the events of Marlas?

No need to include all the characters.

YT 2015

Hi,

Thank you in advance for writing for me! My letter is not very long (I'm not very good at the squee part of fandom) and my ideas for individual fandoms really just suggestions. Frankly I struggle every year to write these, but I am not actually that picky, so as long as you avoid the few things I actively dislike, feel free to write whatever you want in any of these fandoms. Please don't take differences in length between fandoms to indicate my enthusiasm or lack thereof for that fandom, it's only that for some I have more ideas about things I would like to read, whereas for some I have no idea, sorry.

General likes:
Pining
Communication - both good and poor, though in the case of the latter please make it more complicated than something that could be solved so easily with only a few words which naturally would probably be said.
Grey morality

Please don't include:
Rape
Pregnancy
D/s dynamics
AUs which significantly change the world presented – as in, canon divergence AUs are great, but please no such changes as US high school, café employees etc.
Possessiveness
Christmas/other holiday themed

For the most part I prefer third person as a narrative voice, though I’m fine with first person if that is the style in the original text. However, I find it really difficult to get into second-person narratives.

Lynes and Mathey Series - Amy Griswold & Melissa Scott
I received two lovely fics for this last year, but I am always enthusiastic about reading more. I selected these two because I’d prefer the focus to be on their relationship, but I would love it if the others were also included! In particular, I would like to read more about further navigating of boundaries and feelings, or something from the viewpoint of one of Julian’s “acquaintances” on the paragon. I like Julian's awkwardness in expressing affection and that Ned understands rather than, as often happens, requiring a more open way of doing so.

O mnie się nie martw | Don't Worry About Me (TV)
I’d like to see relationships between the women here - in particular, any combination of F/F would be so very welcome! - but also I’d also be happy with friendly relations. I’d like some exploration of what happened with Laura and Tomek that led to the avoidance, though I did enjoy the ‘you’re still alive? walks away’ scene. If you’re up for that sort of thing, I’d love to have something involving a case or otherwise legal issues to be included. I find the children here adorable, so feel free also to include them, especially in relation to Marcin. I enjoy the Iga/Marcin relationship, but I would prefer that not to be the primary focus of a fic.

Partitions of Poland RPF
I'd love a look at the changing interpersonal relationships here, as all of these people were involved with at least one of the others at some point, especially considering how much feelings and dynamics changed. In particular, I like the impact of the political situations on people. I’m open to any interpretations of events.

Whyborne and Griffin - Jordan L. Hawk
I’d love to see something from Griffin’s POV from early on in the relationship (book 1), in particular I enjoyed the relationship insecurity in the books and also in the short story, so I’d love for that to be included. I would also like to see about the prospective reconciliation with his adoptive family and the difficulties of that.

Lalka | The Doll - Bolesław Prus
I would love to read about any of these characters! In particular, I would be interested in something more about events after Henryk Szlangbaum takes over the shop and his relations with Rzecki then. If you know something about this as a topic in general, I would enjoy something about Judaism, both religiously and socially/culturally – this is my exception to a general dislike of ‘holiday’ themed works. In the novel, I particularly enjoyed Rzecki’s political engagement, so I’d love something on that as well. Krzeszowska appears to be leading a rather dramatic life! What else is happening to her? Perhaps she can interact with Izabela? I have no preference as to POV with the exception that I feel that Wokulski’s views on Izabela are sufficiently covered by the book. Some exploration of her life following the split with Wokulski I would also enjoy, though I would prefer it not to focus on her becoming a nun.
